Custom Residential Construction
This is a small collection of some of the different projects that I have completed, along with a short description of each.
Built-in Entertainment Unit

I designed this built-in entertainment unit based on several inspiration photos provided by the clients. The cabinet husks, bench top, and shelf components were all fabricated out of Baltic birch plywood. All of the wires for the TV and speaker run through a chase behind the shiplap MDF into the middle right cabinet.
Basement Bar Nook

I built this bar nook to maximize the useful space in a client's basement using a prefabricated cabinet and countertop they purchased from IKEA. The floating shelves are made from the offcut of the same countertop material. Shiplap MDF was installed on the three walls to add texture and depth to the small space.
Ledgerstone Fireplace Surround with Barnboard Mantle

I installed Ledgerstone over Hardiebacker cement board from floor to ceiling around this fireplace to give it a more substantial and traditional look. I mitred the pieces at the outside corner to give the illusion that the stones were deeper than they are. I used 1 1/4" steel angle as a lintel above the fireplace to support the weight of the stone. The barnboard mantelpiece was provided by the client.
Dropped Ceiling, Moved Chandelier, and Added Wall Lights

In this dining room project: I opened up the ceiling to properly frame in support for the new chandelier location; I ran wires to the new wall light locations for the electrician to connect; I strapped down the ceiling with 1x3s and shims to flatten the ceiling before I covered with a new layer of drywall; finally I taped and finished the drywall before priming and painting the walls and ceiling.
